Reader's letter: Elect council who'll enforce OHV laws
Just a simple question - If you can't control all the "illegal-uninsured off-roaders" now - how do you expect to have an "O.H.V." area in Yucca? Whose wallet thought this one up?
In the past 25 years I've lived here it has always been illegal to ride "off-road." The past several years it has gotten to where the sheriff's department is called daily! This "activity" is illegal.
Do you also plan to open a "tweeker" or "drugee area"?
The south side and west end is zoned for horses, but this area is so overrun by illegal, ignorant off-roaders that you can hardly ride your horse at all. I remind you, this area is zoned for horses, not dirt bikers! The off-roaders are a serious hazard in our rural community.
Many of us support a complete ban on this illegal activity, especially near our national park!
For those of you who can read a map, there already are OHV areas near here.
We do not want an environmental nightmare here - we do not want any off-roaders in Yucca at all!
If this council refuses to enforce existing laws, let's elect a council who will!
Mayor Leone - been riding your horses lately?
