Reader's letter: Good reason to be angry at ORVers
This is in response to Bob Reed's article portraying Phil Klasky's article regarding ORV use as "one-sided." This issue was balanced as evidenced by the Hi-Desert Star's inclusion of the opposition articles.
For me personally, I am not upset with the entire off-road enthusiasts. What I am upset with is the persistency of those ORVers who trespass onto and destroy my personal and real property even though I posted and personally spoke to them previously. As I mentioned in another article, ORVers damaged my steep driveway to the point where we had no ingress or egress to and from our property. It cost my husband and me $20,000 to fix it. Insurance does not cover the cost nor did any ORVers step up to the plate to help with the cost. I think Mr. Reed would be angry too if it was his property that was damaged.
