Reader's letter: Hart's heart is in his pocketbook
Open letter to Stacy Hart: Regarding his suggestion that he might move his golf course housing projects from Twentynine Palms “to another, perhaps unincorporated, area of the Morongo Basin ... whatever is easiest” (“Projects' future in Twentynine Palms doubtful”, Hi-Desert Star May 6). It is obvious from this statement that he cares only about his pocket and not at all about the community, the environment or sound, rational development.
If he thinks he will have a fight in Twentynine Palms over these projects, just try putting them in Joshua Tree, Landers, Wonder Valley or elsewhere in the unincorporated Morongo Basin. We have no patience and no water for his short-sighted, money-grubbing projects. He will need a general plan amendment and zone change out here in the “wasteland” just like you would in Twentynine Palms and don't forget the CEQA review. We will fight him every step of the way.
(He should) do us all a favor and take his foolish projects elsewhere.
