Supertanker could fight terrorism
Regarding the Supertanker firefighting aircraft, Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, R-Huntington Beach, pretty well says it all in his news statement (Victorville Daily Press, Dec. 12) while visiting SCLA airport for a DC-10 Supertanker water bomber demonstration when he said regarding Forest Service refusal to use firefighting Supertankers: “This appears to be the worst case of old-boy networking that I have seen in my career. I’m very deeply impressed with this private-sector alternative (Supertankers). It’s serving the public good and yet they (the Forest Service) have been dragging their feet for years.”
This statement by Rohrbacher is the most truthful and strongest statement in defense of the Supertankers, and in condemnation of the Forest Service for not using them, by a public official that I know of! Apparently the rest of the public officials don’t give a damn about public safety from fire or anything else.
I would further assert that the old-boy- networking he mentions amounts to deliberate decade-long serial arson by dereliction of duty by top fire officials by refusing the Supertankers — which we must prosecute if we have any morality left in government.
We must stop this terrible crime and scandal as we are obviously being set up for massive terrorist firestorms (according to terrorist testimony) reaching even our cities by our enemies such as Al-Qaeda, etc., aided and abetted by our own fire officials. We need Supertankers now! Wildfire is a terrorist weapon.
With Supertankers we can give ourselves a huge tax break by eliminating wildfires nationwide and dumping the anti-Supertanker officials out on the street to find real jobs. See www.jbs.org (search: wildfire) and contact congressman Jerry Lewis now! Our fire season is here!
