Reader’s letter: Whiners ruining OHV fun for all

Published: Saturday, April 7, 2007 12:16 AM CDT
It is a shame the community is divided on the ORV Issue. I am disgusted when I hear the words invasion of off-road vehicles, weekenders, noise, dust, nuisance, widespread trespass, wholesale destruction, drug and alcohol use and harassment, “season of slaughter” and “literally hundreds of riders will tear through our neighborhoods and disturb our peace and private property.”

It upsets me that 30 to 40 whiners from the anti-ORV crowd can divide a whole community. In reality it is 30 to 40 whiners against the community. It’s come down to one neighbor reporting another neighbor or a restraining order against another neighbor.

I personally do not see any of this as being true. I do see homeowners, property owners, friends and neighbors I have not met having some ORV fun.

To the anti-ORV crowd: We like and respect you; the problem is you don’t like us. Can’t we just all get along?
