Trojan tennis ladies remain perfect

YUCCA VALLEY — In a De Anza League match played here Wednesday afternoon, the Ladies of Yucca Valley High School’s Trojan Tennis Team remained as perfect as a winter snow storm covering the Hi-Desert fauna as it rolled past Twentynine Palms, 15-3.
“I keep looking at the league championships hanging on the wall in the gymnasium and can’t help but notice in the 40 years since Yucca Valley High School was opened, the girls tennis team has never won a league championship,” said Trojan Coach Cindy Miller. “Right now we’re 6-0 in the De Anza League and 8-0 overall — as perfect as we can get.”
Still ahead for the Trojan tennis squad are two De Anza League matches. At 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, the Ladies of Troy will host Desert Mirage at 3:15 p.m., then at 3:15 p.m. Nov. 3, league play comes to an end in the tall pines of Big Bear.
The De Anza League Finals are scheduled for 10 a.m. Nov. 6 and 12:30 p.m. Nov. 7.
