Annual Toys for Tots run slated
YUCCA VALLEY — Radio personality Gary Daigneault and Hutchins Motor Sports owner Chris Hutchins will lead a ride to benefit the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program Dec. 6.
The fifth annual Toys for Tots Motorcycle Run, co-sponsored by Hutchins Motor Sports and Z107-7 radio in conjunction with the Rotary clubs of Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms, will begin at 10 a.m. at the Hutchins Harley-Davidson location at 55405 Twentynine Palms Highway in Yucca Valley.
Riders will make their way east through the Morongo Basin to Luckie Park in Twentynine Palms, stopping at checkpoints along the way to pick up playing cards.
When the riders get to Twentynine Palms, the ones holding the best and worst poker hands will win prizes.
After the run, the Twentynine Palms Chamber of Commerce will host a motorcycle show beginning at noon at Luckie Park, with hundreds of motorcycles from the run competing for votes in various categories. Spectators are invited to the park to see the display of custom motorcycles of all makes and models.
The Rotary clubs will provide a barbecue lunch prepared by the Joshua Springs Men’s Ministry for the motorcycle riders.
The Z107.7 Mobile DJ system with disc jockey Clayton Morgan will provide music for dancing and listening.
The entry fee into the poker run is a new, unwrapped toy worth at least $10 (no stuffed animals). All makes and models of motorcycles are welcome to participate. Riders may register at www.hutch
insmotorsports.com or sign up at Hutchins starting at 8 a.m. before the race. For information, call Alethia at Hutchins Motor Sports at 365-6311 or Gary Daigneault at 366-8471.
