YUCCA VALLEY — The annual Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Desert’s Art of Giving fundraiser Sept. 22 raised more than $20,000 for club programs. Last year’s auction brought in $12,000 and club officials were looking to increase that amount to $15,000 this year, so they were obviously pleased with the final tally.

Sam Handley, executive director, thanks community members for the large turnout and their generous support of the Boys & Girls Club’s activities.

Handley also thanks auctioneer Jack Pope who “knew how to pull that money out of doners” and gave special shout-outs to sponsors Pacific Western Bank, James Ramos, Rarick Financial Services, Councilman Robert Lombardo, Triad Realtors and the dulcet tones of Hot Purple Energy.
