Betty Jean Hart, a 48-year resident of California and a 44-year resident of Joshua Tree, died June 19, 2019, at Eisenhower Hospital in Rancho Mirage. She was 65 years old.
The daughter of Merle and Charlotte Moore, she was born Sept. 11, 1953, in Mitchell, South Dakota.
She was a homemaker and a mother.
She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church of Yucca Valley.
Betty loved children and being a mom. She was happiest with a new baby in her arms, sewing crafts, or having family over for a Sunday dinner. She cherished her times spent with her friends at Evangelical Free Church Woman’s Ministry and having morning coffee on her flowered patio watching the sunrise.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Charlotte and Merle Moore, her brother Bill Moore and her sisters Carol Walls, Deanna Dobras and Donna Bliss.
Betty is survived by her husband, Gary Hart, their four children, Rebecca Hart, Heather Young, Johnathan Hart and William Hart, and her siblings, James Moore and Bonnie Prince, of South Dakota.
She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Jacob, Amelia, Wyatt and Wesson.
Betty’s memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. this Saturday, June 29, at the Evangelical Free Church located at 6804 Mohawk Trail in Yucca Valley. There will be a reception directly after at the church.
A family-only graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at the Joshua Tree Memorial Park cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that people make donations in support of the Hi-Desert Pregnancy Clinic in Yucca Valley.
