Albert Francis Rosplock, a 22-year resident of Joshua Tree, died Aug. 2, 2011 at Emeritus Care Facility in Rancho Mirage. He was 83 years old.
The son of Frank Rosplock and Frances Kosloski-Rosplock, he was born Nov. 28, 1927, in Elmira, N.Y.
Mr. Rosplock was an automotive mechanic, an animal whisperer and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
He worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 26 years before he retired.
He loved swimming, the outdoors, wood carving and card playing.
His grandsons Mike Miller and Joshua Miller, brothers Larry, Bernard, Eugene and John and sisters Theresa and Mary preceded him in death.
Mr. Rosplock is survived by his wife of 31 years, Delores Ruth Rosplock of Joshua Tree; daughter Cathy Johnston of Quail Valley; sons Steve Rosplock of Orange and Joseph Rosplock of Side Lake, N.J.; brother Joseph Rosplock of Side Lake, N.J.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 7 at Wiefels and Son Funeral Chapel in Yucca Valley. A service will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 10 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Yucca Valley. Pastor Thomas Hendry and Vicar Ted Smith will officiate. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Aug. 10 at Joshua Tree Memorial Park.
