Joseph Thomas Huffer Sr., a 50-year resident of California, most recently of Yucca Valley, died from cancer March 13, 2019, at Desert Regional Medical Center. He was 62 years old. He had also resided in Joshua Tree.
The son of John Willard and Josephine Marie Huffer, he was born Dec. 9, 1957, in New York.
He worked for Lutheran Social Services for over 10 years.
He was an avid bowler who loved serving and helping his community.
He was preceded in death by John and Peter Huffer.
He is survived by his brother, Richard Huffer, of Hesperia, his sisters, Helen Mazza, of New York, and Eva Huffer, of Yucca Valley, his son, Joseph T. Huffer Jr., his grandson, Joseph T. Huffer III, and his niece, Haylee L. Huffer, all of Yucca Valley.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. May 11 at First Christian Church. The service will be officiated by Pastor Bobby.
Joseph was a loving man with a big heart, a great mentor and help to a lot of people in need. He lived by what he always said, to always be humble and kind. He will be missed and never be forgotten by many.
