Susan Louise Schoenfeldt, born Susan Louise Gauci, 52, of Yucca Valley, passed away suddenly on April 11, 2019, while enjoying the beautiful outdoors with her daughter at Black Rock Campground in Joshua Tree National Park.
Susan is survived by her sister, Anjanet Roof, her spouse, Timothy Young, and her daughter, Skylar Young, of Yucca Valley; her loving children, Brent Schoenfeldt Jr. and Breanna Ingalls and her spouse, Clinton Ingalls, of Yucca Valley; her best friend, Rachele Krohn, of Yucca Valley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Susan was preceded in death by her loving parents, James and Marsha Roof, whom she has been reunited with.
Susan was born in San Jose on Dec. 31, 1966, and lived there with family until moving to Lucerne Valley in 1980. Susan graduated from Apple Valley High School in 1985. During her teen years, she thoroughly enjoyed leisure riding and barrel racing her quarter horse, Buzzy. Susan was also an All-Star softball player many times. Susan then moved to Northern California to start her family before moving to Yucca Valley in 2001 to be close to her wonderful family.
Susan was a well-known and very loved bus driver for the children of the community from 2002 to 2015. At her time of death, she was a bus driver for the heroic troops of the U.S. Marine Corps of Twentynine Palms, whom she was honored and proud to drive daily.
Sue’s humor, beauty, kindness, loyalty and grace will be greatly missed by all who had the wonderful pleasure of knowing her.
A celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at 5626 Mountain View Lane, Pioneertown.
