Debra Jean Snowden, a resident of California for more than 60 years and of Morongo Valley for 44 years, died from cancer at her home on Nov. 22, 2018. She was 62 years old.
The daughter of John Delbert Downs and Christene Elizabeth Downs, she was born Feb. 22, 1956, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was a professional mom at Snowden Family Childcare for 39 years.
Debra loved traveling to Havasu Lake, driving her boat completely surrounded by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Christene Downs, and her sister, Denise Breckenridge.
She is survived by her father, John Downs, of Yucca Valley; her husband, John Snowden, of Morongo Valley; her daughters, Misty Porter, of Yucca Valley, and Melissa Snowden and Ali Snowden, both of Morongo Valley; her nieces, Suzanna Vickinovac, in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, and Tyler Breckenridge, of Morongo Valley; her grandchildren, Collin Houk and Tessa Houk, both of Morongo Valley, and Destanie Porter and Andrew Porter, both of Yucca Valley; and her grandnephew, Bentley Quin, of Pittsburg.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Snowden House in Morongo Valley.
