Austin Joe Duncan, a 20-year resident of Twentynine Palms, died March 31, 2019. He was 41 years old.
The son of Joann Sykes and Harold Duncan, he was born Jan. 5, 1978, in Knoxville, Tennessee.
He worked for the Tortoise Rock Casino for five years.
He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Austin enjoyed attending concerts, listening to music, camping and spending time with his children and their dog Emma. He also collected music, vinyl records and horror movies. Austin was a Tennessee Titans fan and loved monster trucks since he was a little kid.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Duncan.
He is survived by his wife, Leanne, and children Madeline and Austin, of Twentynine Palms; his mom, Joann Sykes Denmark, of Tennessee; his sister Heather Best Denmark, of Tennessee; his brother, Bill Duncan, of Buckeye, Arizona; his sister Holly Bowron, of Lake Elsinore; and five nieces.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. April 26 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Twentynine Palms.
A graveside service will follow Mass at the 29 Palms Public Cemetery.

Austin was a great man with a great sense of humor who had so much love for his family. He was a great dad, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed. A hole has been left in our hearts by his passing that will never be filled.
