Alana V McKenzie, a lifelong resident of California and a 48-year resident of Yucca Valley, died at her home June 2, 2019. She was 71 years old.
The daughter of Donna Horan, she was born Feb. 11, 1948, in Sacramento.
She was a housewife who loved collecting rocks and gems. She had a huge heart for people and animals and reading Stephen King.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Horan, and her late husband, Scott McKenzie.
She is survived by her daughter, Angelique King, her son, Christopher Kudebeh, her son-in-law, Keith King, and her grandchildren, Brittany Thomas, Brooklynn King, Keyna Rotunno and Arianna Plum.
A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. July 21 at the Joshua Tree Community Center.

Alana will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving mother, grandmother and friend who loved taking care of people. Anyone in need, her doors were always open. Whether they were hungry, needing somewhere to sleep or even just needing a companion to listen to them, you could count on Alana. Loved by all, she will be truly missed.
