John Snowden, 55, passed from cancer in his home on March 20, 2019, in Palm Springs, with his loving family by his side.
A native of California, John graduated from Twentynine Palms High School and attended Sonoma State University where he majored in philosophy. He maintained a lifelong interest in philosophy, art, theology and history.
During John’s youth, his military family traveled frequently. As an adult he continued the adventure of traveling from Alaska to Salvation Mountain, always returning to the desert landscape, sunrises and sunsets he enjoyed most of all with his immediate family. His kindness and generosity for those in need during his life is the legacy that he leaves in the hearts of his many friends and “travel family” he met along the way.
John is survived by his father and mother, Howard and Rachael Snowden, of Twentynine Palms, his brother, Jeffery (JoeAnna) Snowden, his sister, June (Gary) Snowden-Malfatti, of Rancho Mirage, numerous cousins and extended family, and his beloved two cats, Ariel and Rumi.
At his request, John will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Resurrection Cemetery in Rosemead.
