Marissa Lindley shot a career-low 43 Monday against West Valley.

YUCCA VALLEY — The Trojan golf team shot a season-low 199 Monday against West Valley in a non-league match.

“It was a lot of fun watching our players today,” said head coach Jeff Evans. “They stayed focused for the entire match and played their hearts out.”

Low individual scores for the day were turned in by Gauge Kime, who shot an even par 36 for the second time this season. Josh Pierce shot a 39, Luke Yakimow shot a 40, Larry Tyerman shot a 41 and Marissa Lindley shot a career low of 43.

“Time will tell what these young players are truly capable of achieving on the golf course,” Evans said.

The following day the Trojans took on the Desert Christian Academy and posted a team score of 219. Top scoring honors went to Kime for a 39 and Tyerman for a 42.

The Trojans are now 9-1 on the season and remain undefeated in Desert Valley League play. They return to Hawk’s Landing today to play Desert Mirage.
