YUCCA VALLEY — The Yucca Valley High School golf team defeated the Banning Broncos 224-336 Tuesday to extend their consecutive win streak to 11 matches.
“The high winds and cold temperatures were definitely a challenge today for both teams,” said head coach Jeff Evans. “I’m really proud that our players stayed focus despite the conditions.”
Low rounds of the day were carded by Gauge Kime with a 40 and Josh Pierce with a 42.
The Trojan golf team is now 16-1 on the season and 8-0 in Desert Valley League play.
“It’s really rewarding to watch our players compete at a very high level,” Evans said.
Tuesday’s win came off an impressive week with the team dominating at an away game Monday against Desert Hot Springs and at a home game Friday against Palm Springs High School.
The Trojans posted a team score of 241 against DHS. Leading the way for the Trojans were Marissa Lindley with a 44 and Larry Tyerman with a 45.
