TWENTYNINE PALMS — The Twentynine Palms Dolphins community swim team improved its record to 1-2 with a 353.5-320.5 win over the Hi-Desert Aquatics Sandsharks of Yucca Valley at a meet at Luckie Park Saturday.
The Dolphins got off to a fast start with four relay team wins in a row before the Sandsharks began fighting their way back.
“We had an amazing meet Saturday. Our swimmers had some great personal bests,” Dolphins coach Michelle Minatrea-Teo said.
“We have had a fun season so far. We have great swimmers, parents and awesome coaches.”
The Hi Desert Aquatics Sandsharks entered the meet with 52 swimmers, coach Tony Kompier reported.
“The Sandsharks had 38 swimmers drop times for personal bests,” Kompier reported. “The Sandsharks swam a great meet against the Twentynine Palms Dolphins. The Sandsharks continue to improve each swim meet with their swimming this season.”
The Dolphins will take to the road to swim in Bloomington at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 8. The Sandsharks will compete on the road against the Pass Stingrays in Beaumont Saturday.
