LANCASTER — The Joshua Springs High School varsity football squad floored King’s Christian School 62-2 Friday, Sept. 14.
The win improves the Lightning’s regular-season record to 3-0, with the boys yet to play a league game.
Joshua Springs jumped ahead 48-0 at the half courtesy of several first-down touchdowns, Adam Everhart reports. Max Renforth posted two rushing touchdowns and a receiving touchdown, Jacob Husband ran in a touchdown and Joe Leichtner and Jeff Bachman each had a rushing touchdown.
In the second half, Seth Roses and Husband hit paydirt to bring the total to 62.
“King’s Christian kept giving the Lightning a short field and they took advantage of that,” Everhart said.
King’s Christian is in Lemoore in central California, and to cut the travel distance, the two teams met somewhat in between at Lancaster Baptist High School.
