29 Palms man arrested for murder

TWENTYNINE PALMS — A Twentynine Palms man is facing a murder charge following the stabbing death of a man here Monday afternoon, Feb. 5, in the 74000 block of Joe Davis Drive.

William Olivo, 25, was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail and later transferred to West Valley Detention Center where he was being held without bail. He was due in Morongo Basin Superior Court at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7.

Deputies from the Morongo Basin sheriff’s station responded to a reported stabbing at about12:01 p.m.

Deputies located the victim, Dominique Clement, 21, of Twentynine Palms, suffering from apparent stab wounds. The victim was transported to a local area hospital and died at 2:46 pm.

Deputies located Olivo, outside of the apartment armed with a knife. Deputies ordered the suspect to drop the knife.

Olivo complied with the deputies orders, but resisted when deputies attempted to handcuff him and he was tased. He was taken into custody without further incident and transported to a local area hospital where he was treated for a laceration believed to have occurred during an altercation with the victim.

Once released from the hospital, he was transported and booked into the Morongo Jail.  

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division-Homicide Detail responded to the location and assumed the investigation.  

Olivo was later transported to the West Valley Detention Center where he is being held without bail.

The investigation is ongoing, and the motive remains under investigation. Additional information will be released when it becomes available.

    I read the entire story with names and what happened off a Palm Springs News website. But the local paper doesn't have any information at all...because they suck!
