YUCCA VALLEY — Authorities are looking for a  lance corporal from the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms who went missing Sunday, Aug. 14.

Family members say Lance Cpl. Cesar Tiberio Morales, 20, did not return for duty at the base Monday, Aug. 15.

According to Morales’ sister, Maritza Morales, the Marine left Yucca Valley on

Sunday for Yuma, Ariz.,  to see his girlfriend but he turned around once he got to Indio.

Morales lives off-base in Yucca Valley. His roommate said he last saw him Sunday evening, when Morales was on his way to get a haircut before leaving town.

His family said they were alerted he was missing when an official from the Combat Center called them Monday, to ask if they’d seen or heard from Morales.

The missing Marine was driving a 2001 black Audi TT with the license plate 6RST855.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Dick Bunn at the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station, (760) 366-4183.
