TWENTYNINE PALMS — The Twentynine Palms High School boys varsity soccer team made it four in a row Thursday, Nov. 29, beating Linfield Christian 1-0 in the second game of the Linfield Soccer Boys and Girls Tournament. The Wildcats improve to 4-0 with the win.

The entire team played great team defense and allowed no uncontested shots to Linfield shooters. Junior Juan Duran recorded seven saves to bolster the defense. Junior captain Melvin Ballinas scored his third goal of the season on an assist from freshman Marcus Delacruz in the second half.

The team will play twice, at 8 and 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 1 in Temecula against California Military Institute and Santa Rosa Academy.

The Twentynine Palms High School boys varsity soccer team traveled to Linfield Christian to bea Woodcrest Christian 1-0 in the opening game of the Linfield Soccer Boys and Girls Tournament on Wednesday Nov. 28.  The Wildcats recorded their third win of the season to improve to 3-0.

Junior captain Melvin Ballinas scored his second goal of the season on a free kick in the first half.

“The entire team played great team defense and allowed no uncontested shots to Woodcrest shooters,” Head Coach Nathan Niles reported.  

Junior Juan Duran recorded eight saves to bolster the defense.
