TWENTYNINE PALMS — The Twentynine Palms High School girls varsity basketball team routed Rancho Mirage on the road Friday, Feb. 10.

The Wildcats opened up a 24-3 first quarter lead which became a 49-7 halftime edge before finishing the night with a 78-26 victory.

The victory leaves the Wildcats with a perfect 10-0 De Anza League record and gives them sole possession of the league championship. Yucca Valley finished the season in second place with am 8-2 league mark.

In her last regular season basketball game for the Wildcats, senior Lindsey Scamman led her teammates with 31 points, 21 rebounds, four assists and five steals.

The Wildcats will host Carter High School of Rialto for the first CIF playoff game at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15.

Carter High School ended its regular season with a 59-51 home loss to Eisenhower High School on Friday, Feb. 9.

The Lions ended the regular season with a 7-7 mark in league play and a fourth place finish in the Citrus Belt League.
